Toongabbie is one of the older established suburbs in Western Sydney. A lot of the homes here have had two or three owners since they were built, and bathrooms have a way of accumulating the decisions of every owner who came before. Tiles laid over tiles. A shower screen someone installed themselves. Waterproofing that was patched rather than properly redone. Plumbing that was last touched by someone who is no longer contactable.
What looks like a straightforward renovation can sometimes involve undoing a fair bit of previous work before the proper job can start. We’re used to this. We factor it into how we quote, and we don’t hit you with surprise costs when something unexpected shows up behind the wall.
The other thing worth knowing about Toongabbie is the housing mix. It’s not just brick homes on standard blocks. There’s a real variety here: duplexes, villas, older townhouses, and compact single-level homes where the bathroom is small and every layout decision counts. Getting the most out of a tight bathroom space takes a different approach to renovating a large ensuite in a newer home, and it’s something we think about carefully at the design stage.
